English Tea Shop White Tea Review

The sweetest and lightest of all teas, made from tea leaves at their bud stage when they are covered in soft fine white hair. So delicate yet so full of goodness. ” [source]

In my teacup today is a delicate and smooth White Tea from the English Tea Shop. White teas always possess a subtle flavour, as they are harvested from young leaves and new growth buds. These baby leaves have fine silver white hairs, and this is where white tea gets the name. These tea leaves are not oxidised or fermented, but instead are steamed before drying, and it is this process that produces the subdued white tea flavour. This signature tea from the English Tea Shop is a prime example of what a white tea should taste like. Their collection has many flavoured teas available, but I really enjoyed the simplicity in this tea. The soft flavours provided a perfect moment of bliss and quiet relaxation.
