Earl Grey & Florentines at Dobbies Garden Centre

I am perusing the houseplants and the spiky cacti when I see a familiar face pop up in front of me… it’s my Mum! and we decide to have a little catch-up up over a cuppa brew and a cake…

Our exquisite Earl Grey tea is famous around the world. It all started in 1831 with Richard Twining who created this iconic blend at the request of Prime Minister Charles Grey, the Earl Grey at the time. He loved this tea and put his name on it.” [source]

In my teacup today was a delicious Earl Grey from Twinings Tea, served with a homemade florentine at Dobbies Garden Centre. This refreshing black tea is delicious all by itself, but I like to counter the sharpness of the citrus notes with a little splash of milk. Twinings’ Earl Grey is one of my top teas, and it is the delicate bergamot flavours that are perfectly blended the refreshing black tea leaves that keep me coming back to this luxurious every day tea. Today, my favourite tea was further enhanced with a sweet florentine treat, which was the perfect accompaniment for a chatter with my Mum!! Dobbies Edinburgh is a wonderful little cafe for meeting up with friends and family. The decor is cheap and cheerful, the food is a little on the expensive side, but it is always delicious, and all the staff are very friendly too. The only downside is the slight cafeteria-like feel to the atmosphere, but sometimes that is also a good thing if you enjoy people-watching!!
