Newby English Breakfast Tea Review

I was gifted this adorable little Newby tea sampler at Collect 2018 and it has sat forlornly in my cupboard ever since… now I really must try these beautifully packaged teas. Today’s taster is the classic English Breakfast blend…

Perhaps the classic British blend, English Breakfast’s origins are thought to lie in Scotland, where Queen Victoria enjoyed it while staying at Balmoral Castle. Enduringly popular to the present day, our English Breakfast is reviving and rich, with an unmistakably malty aroma and a citrusy tinge adding an edge to its robust character.” [source]

Newby English Breakfast (7)

It is hard to go wrong with a classic English Breakfast tea, and this blend is no exception. The traditional malty flavours are brought out by the slight citrus notes that add something a little bit special to this tea. This dark-amber coloured tea is tad bitter on it’s own, but that is easily quelled with a splash of milk. A perfect tea to ensure your morning starts wonderfully.
